The Edge

A two seater rocking bench hand crafted purely using wood joints with no adhesive materials.

It is specially designed with the thought that movement can trigger interaction between users.

Prototyping Process

This is the scaled down prototype done using grey cardboard followed by a full scale foam prototype after refining the design.

Design Details

These are the joinery used for fabrication.

Joinery chosen are not only to ensure a strong structure, the aesthetics are also considered to ensure that the edge of the bench is flushed.

All joints are precisely crafted to fit tightly such that no adhesive materials are required to hold them in place.
