In this day and time, we are all victims to the consumer culture, convinced by the perceived happiness and fulfilment material possessions bring us. Falling into this vicious cycle of desiring for more but never getting fulfilled.

Thus, I see an opportunity to utilise partial concealment as an approach to nudge users to consume less, to curate a living environment that is positive and soothing to better the well-being of oneself.

Beyond functionality, our home is a space that embodies emotional relevance. A tangible environment that encapsulates our intangible memories and experiences. Therefore, I chose to focus on context in our home that over consume such as stationeries, accessories, cosmetics and skincare.

fond is an organiser series designed utilising partial concealment as an approach to create a hierarchy that suits your lifestyle.

Spectrum of modules

The fond series includes modules ranging from fully exposed to fully concealed of various sizes. It empowers users to customise to their needs and embrace each individual’s personality and lifestyle.

Special modules are also designed to adapt to the differing needs of different contexts.

The fond series can bring meaning beyond functionality, increasing our consciousness towards the value of our possessions. 

Form

The rounded forms also encompass the feeling of totality and wholeness, thus it provides a sense of completeness, without defining how many modules you need.

Modular

As the fond is a modular system, there is no definite use for modules in specific context, one can easily mix and match, creating unlimited possibilities to organise their own possessions according to their lifestyle needs. 

Through the process of organising with the fond series modules, users can prioritise and be aware of how often a product is used and whether it is as important to them as they thought it was.

With that, they can be more conscious of their consumption and focus on the more important defined by them.
